About Making Web Shows

Making Web Shows was born out of the need for some organize documentation on how to make a web series or any kind of web show. What are the process, the methods and how it differs from traditional TV or Film.

This episodical content some like to call “Original Series”, “Indie TV”, “Web TV”, what every you call it, the important thing here is to get it made and to get as much audience as possible. That is what we want to help you do here in MakingWebShows.com

Web serialized videos are not a new form, but for some reason we have been so busy making them that no one has actually taken a second to write down a comprehensible guide on creating a web series.

About the Author

My name is Javier Perez-Karam. I have been writing, directing and producing film, theater and web videos for the last 7 years (although the web series not really until two years ago that I got into it deeply). I have also been involved in some kind of social media engagement since hi5 and myspace where what was happening.

In 2010 I created my first web series, and directed my three-episodes pilot Carlitos is Pissed, a comedy about a Teddy Bear taking revenge on his owner.

Later that year, I collaborated with Three Funny Toes and directed the first season of their web comedy series Chico’s Cherubs.

Web content has quickly become my passion. So I have now my creativity invested on web series and dynamic storytelling. I am creating stories that can be consumed on-demand in an integral way, through out different mediums, and across multiple platforms, almost always starting on the web.

I am looking forward to learning and discovering much more of this process of creating for web, together with other veteran web series makers. To discuss the craft, the business and the industry of populating the web with fantastic episodical content and stories.

Feel free to leave a comment and start a conversation. At the end that is what the web is here for, to intertwine out thoughts and help us grow as society and groups.
